Ballaminers House is a delightful 18th century double fronted stone farmhouse with a large secure garden tucked away up a leafy lane in the picturesque village of Little Petherick which is just two miles south of Padstow. The lovely town of Padstow is home to Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant, cookery school, St Petroc's Bistro and Rick Stein's Cafe.With it's quaint narrow streets , art galleries and boutique shops and traditional pubs it's easy to see why Padstow is very popular.The house is in easy reach of eight fantastic beaches which are Hawker's Cove, Trevone Bay,Constantine Bay, Booby's Bay, Treyarnon Bay, Porthcothan, Trevose Head and Harlyn Bay which is very popular with surfers. Trevose golf course is within fifteen minutes drive. The Padstow farmshop may be spotted on the way to some of the beaches mentioned so why not stop there and stock up on locally produced food and enjoy a relaxing day on one of the beaches close by.
The house which offers four bedrooms and sleeps a total of eight people has a large secure garden and has recently been redecorated in Farrow and Ball colours offering guests the choice of three reception rooms aswell as a dining room lwhich is accessed from the hallway or kitchen.
There are four bedrooms in total,two double bedrooms, one small twin bedroom ideal for children and another double bedroom offering a zip and link bed which makes up into either a six foot super King size bed or two single beds. There are two bathrooms one of which has an original roll top bath and the second has a bath with telephone style taps and hand shower aswell as a super power shower positioned at one end of the bath.
As already mentioned the house offers guests three reception rooms .Two of the reception rooms overlook the front garden and boast original shutters and window seats .The first reception room which is carpeted has an open fireplace to burn logs and a Samsung flatscreen tv .The second reception room has painted wooden floors and is known as the ' quiet room' which we feel some guests will appreciate.The third reception room is at the rear of the house and has two windows with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and original slate floors with large Sisal rug.This room offers guests a book library, Samsung flatscreen tv, dvd player with a good selection of dvds to watch.There is also a House Computer for guests to use during their stay. The Shaker style kitchen is well equipped and leads through the original back farmhouse door to the breakfast room with dark blue Aga. The newly decorated kitchen also has new appliances which include a John Lewis electric double oven cooker and flat plate hob, mcrowave, Magimix Cuisine, Hotpoint Aqualtis Washer/ Dryer, Hotpoint Dishwasher and a coffee machine. Both kitchen and breakfast/ dining room have old slate floors.

The large garden is secure and surrounds the house making it an ideal choice for families with children and dogs. From the patio area there are wonderful far reaching views of the Cornish countryside. The rear of the farmhouse sits comfortably across the former farmyard from Stable and Dairy cottages which are also listed on this site. Private parking.
Cornwall is very child friendly and there is much for the young to do and see including nearby Crealys Adventure Park, Newquay Zoo, Dairyland and Gweek seal sanctuary.
As already mentioned within ten minutes drive of the house are many magnificent beaches and you can cross over from Hawkers Cove (8 minutes away) to Daymer Bay by ferry. The well known Trevose Golf course is within a 15 minute drive from the house and St Enodoc golf course at Rock is easily accessible. Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay is within easy reach and Newquay airport is only twenty five minutes by car. Flights to and from Gatwick, the Scilly Isles and other European destinations operate from here. Art lovers head for Tate St Ives, Newlyn Gallery, and Penlee House.
Bookings during July and August and other peak times of the year will receive a complimentary wicker basket of Cornish produce and a light mid week cleaning service.

Included in the tariff are all linen and towels (not beach). Lemongrass soap handmade in Cornwall.
During July and August a light mid week cleaning service is included in the tariff Andy our gardener attends the garden once a week. New for 2012 bookings during July and August and other peak weeks will receive a wicker hamper of Cornish produce.
