At Tregrehan Garden on the south coast of Cornwall, the pink granite stone Coach House is the end cottage of what was the old stables on this charming estate Grade II star listed. A sunny cottage, with private walled garden, generous hospitality, open all-year. 19C architecture maintained using traditional techniques. Fowey estuary and port, lies to the east, 15 minutes by road. Charlestown 5 minutes west. This old Cornish Estate remains in the Carlyon family and is currently owned by the New Zealand branch continuing a line of passionate gardeners. Forty hectares of trees and shrubs for plant lovers. Fishing villages, fields, animals, woods and meandering coastline dotted with beaches for everyone to enjoy.
Layout spacious throughout, fully-equipped 3 bedroom cottage with twin bedroom and shower-room on the ground floor, adjacent to kitchen/dining room. A short flight of stairs leads to the sitting room, master bedroom with additional single bed, end bedroom with a bunk and single bed, and bathroom with overhead shower. Additional cots/highchairs are provided free of charge.
Facilities include wood burner (wood included in the price and cut from the estate), dishwasher and washing machine, TV and DVD, radio, electric blankets, 3 night-store heaters, various oil/electric heaters, coin-operated telephone at the Garden entrance (20m), free access to the garden by arrangement, use of tennis court during the week, enclosed private walled garden with garden furniture, dog friendly.
Location between the enchanting fishing villages of Fowey and Charlestown, and nearby Mevagissey, Cornish Gardens (Tregrehan Garden, Marsh Villa at Par for true Cornish hospitality, Trewithen, Pine Lodge, Heligan, Caerhays…within 35 minutes drive). Eden Project within walking distance (15 mins), Luxulyan Woods (5 minutes drive), National Trust’s Lanhydrock Estate (15 minutes by car), north coast Padstow and Newquay within 35 minutes drive. Close proximity to supermarket, Lostwithiel Farmer’s Market and the local hospital.
Recommended for small groups, ideal for families and grandparents or larger families. Short breaks available out of summer. Excellently located for people interested in the Cornish Spring Gardens. Summer location for all the usual reasons to come to Cornwall! Friday changeover during the summer months.
