email the ownerBoston House is part of The Terrace, Windermere - a unique row of Three 4 star, grade II listed large holiday homes located in the heart of Windermere village, yet conveniently secluded from the hustle of the town in private grounds. Designed by AWN Pugin (perhaps more famous for designing the Palace of Westminster) these house are beautifully kept and as a result were awarded best contribution to the visual appearance to Windermere village in 2008.
Before becoming a holiday cottage Boston House was a four star rated guesthouse, an accolade which is not easily acquired.
The property accommodates 14 comfortably with its 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a TV, alarm clock and white cotton bedding.
For the romantics in your party there are 2 four-poster beds and one half-tester bed.
Newly refurbished in autumn 2009 the large kitchen features solid oak units with Lakeland slate worksurfaces, 7 ring-burner - twin fan oven range cooker, 46 bottle wine cooler, two fridges, dishwasher and a microwave. It has 2 main areas one for food prep and one for cooking. The main room has a large central island unit with 8 oak stools. The perfect place to sit back with a glass of wine and watch your chef perform
We also added a 14 seat digital cinema in the cellar. With Blue Ray DVD and surround sound this is the perfect place for a rainy day or evening's after dinner entertainment.
The lounge has a living flame gas fire, leather settees, large flat screen TV, DVD player with cinema surround sound system, Playstation2 (with small selection of games) and a Hi-fi with ipod dock. The fireplace designed by Pugin is thought to be a smaller replica of the one designed for Westminster Palace. The dining room has a very large table perfect for entertaining a large group and it is equipped with a Bose ipod dock.
The rear courtyard is sheltered being walled all round and looks out to Orrest Head and has a huge teak table and chairs on a raised patio so is ideal for dining alfresco.
