Dating back to 1360 The Old Bakehouse provides high quality, characterful and good-sized accommodation for up to 15 guests with 4 double bedrooms, 4 single bedrooms and 3 fold down beds. This spacious property is found in a village location at the heart of the Peak District National Park making this is an ideal base from which to explore the area.
The house is perfect for a corporate retreat, large group or business gathering. We can provide fully serviced facilities for your stay including catering services at any level. The catering is provided by our catering partner, The Chequers Inn at Froggatt Edge. For large groups, the dining room and lounge will seat all guests.
The house exudes comfort and charm with a mixture of old beams, antique furniture and tasteful, high quality, furnishings, fabrics and fittings.
The property is entered via a spacious and welcoming dining hall featuring an old Derbyshire open fire place. To the left of this room is a second sitting room with a staircase leading to the first floor double bedroom with en suite shower, hand basin and toilet.
On the right of the room is a cloakroom area with wc and hand basin and from here an inner hall leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen/breakfast area is equipped with everything you might require during your stay and also features a glazed roof and patio doors leading onto a patio and garden area.
The Old Bakehouse also has another very spacious lounge with log burning stove and double glazed doors opening onto the patio and secured walled rear garden. There is a separate utility room.
There are five first floor bedrooms, two of which have an ensuite. The five bedrooms consist of 2 doubles, 1 twin, 1 triple(1 double and 1 single) and 1 King size double. The king size double has an ensuite bathroom with bath, hand basin and toilet. Also on this floor is the main bathroom which has a bath with shower over, hand basin and toilet.
For those wanting a little more privacy, there is a further double bedroom in a separate annexe in the grounds of the house. This is a contemporary room and has a double bed and en suite shower room, with hand basin and toilet.
We can also provide three fold up beds that can be used in most of the bedrooms.
To the rear of the property is a private and secure, lawned and walled garden.
Locally there are many pretty walks by the banks of the River Derwent to Baslow and into the parklands of Chatsworth House and the pretty and popular market town of Bakewell is just a short drive away.
Groceries can be bought in Calver and there is also a post office and an inn serving food.
The nearest railway station is Grindleford/Chesterfield
Nearest takeaway food can be found in Bakewell
The house is less than 100 yards from the Derwent Water Arms. Further fine dining is available at nearby Fischer's, Rowleys, The Cavendish (all in Baslow) and the Devonshire Arms in Beeley on the Chatsworth Estate.
PRICE INFORMATION:£1473 to £3000 per week
During the months of February, March and April, we are offering 4 night breaks (Mon - Fri) for £1000.
