HAFOD GROVE sleeps 12 but can accommodate up to 18 guests if hired with Hafod Villa which is right next door.
A gracious, period property set in a unique location within the The Pembrokeshire National Park. It was originally an ancient long house having been rebuilt in the 19th century by members of the Colby family, who owned large areas of farmland in the county. Hafod Grove is now divided into two holiday homes one being Hafod Grove House and the other being Hafod Villa. Both properties offer unique and comfortable accommodation but are clearly two individual dwellings with separate access and gardens.
Hafod Grove House is a six bedroomed gentleman's residence set in over an acre of delightful grounds. Hafod Villa was originally the garden cottage attached to the big house and is now designed to afford the maximum privacy offering charming and spacious cottage style accommodation with 3 bedrooms and an enormous garden.

HAFOD GROVE HOUSE is a stunning Georgian mansion house with seaviews from the front bedrooms and garden.
There is a spacious farmhouse style kitchen complete with Aga and the table seats up to 12 guests + highchair.
Reception room one has a bright double aspect with lovely views over the garden. It has TV, DVD and seating for 8 people.
Reception room two has an open fire and french doors leading to a suntrap patio as well as seating for 8 and a piano (which we can have tuned by arrangement).
On the ground floor there is an Edwardian double-bedroom suite with sofa and tv, there is also a shower room opposite, which makes it ideal for the elderly or disabled visitor.

The Master bedroom has sea views, antique furnishings and a luxury en-suite with a antique french double-ended bath and power shower.
There is also a king-sized bedroom with sea views and a vanity basin.
There are two twin bedded rooms one of which has a vanity basin, both enjoy lovely garden views.
The bunk bedroom which is great fun for children as it is located at the top of the servants stairs so they have a short cut to the kitchen.
There is also a high quality family bathroom with power shower and victorian bath.
The house is extremely spacious yet homely being full of period features and oozing character with it's arched hallways and dog-leg staircase.
Outside there is over an acre of lawns, woodland, patio, BBQ area and swings.
This is the ideal property for families and groups and it can, in fact, accommodate up to 18 guests if hired with Hafod Villa.
LOCATION
This particular part of The Park affords the most beautiful and varied landscape in the County. From the purple and yellow, heather and gorse-strewn moors up in the Preseli Mountains, with staggering views of the county and coastline, down into the meandering pastoral scenery of the Gwaun Valley and the dramatic Gorge at Kilgerran overlooked by it's Medieval Castle. The entire area is truly a nature-lover's delight with the rare red kite frequently seen flying over the property, numerous varieties of shoreline birds, hedgerows like gardens in spring and daily sitings of seals, dolphins and porpoises and the less common basking-shark, turtle and whale off of the coast at Ceibwr. Within walking distance (1.5mls) of The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with it's breath-taking scenery and the pretty unspoiled beach; the caves and rocks at Ceibwr Bay become a nursery and safe haven for seal pups during the spring. The location makes Hafod Grove an ideal centre from which to explore the three counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and the inland county of Carmarthenshire
Amenitites and activities. Situated between the the bustling, Market Town of Cardigan and the pretty coastal village of Newport there is a wide variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, theatre/cinema and bars to explore. With a further two sandy beaches with safe bathing and rock pools to investigate within 3 miles of Hafod Grove the holiday is guaranteed to be a hit with children. There are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy including walking, horse-riding or mountain biking over the Preselis. Golf at Newport Golf Club, sailing at Newport yacht club as well as freshwater trout/ salmon fishing as well as sea fishing and boat hire. Scuba Diving at Fishguard, where you can also catch the ferry for a Day Trip to Ireland. A little further afield is Go Karting, there is a Dry Ski Slope at Llangranog, Windsurfing, Surfing and Rock-Climbing. For those interested in The Arts there is a theatre and cinema in Cardigan, open air Shakespeare and theatre productions during summer at St. Dogmaels Abbey, Art Galleries and Craft Workshop Trails all within a short car ride. Local places of historical interest include Pentre-Ifan the pre-historic burial chamber, St. Dogmaels Abbey, Kilgerran Castle, and Castell Henllys an excavated and restored pre-historic fort provide fascinating excursions very nearby. For children there is Own a Pony day at Yet Wen (01239 891 262) Cardigan Island Farm and the shire horse centre the horse rescue centre welcomes visitors to see it's retired oap horses of 40 years old! Then there is Oakwood a huge leisure park within a half an hour drive.
