Situated in an AONB see how many follies are on the skyline, created by the local eccentric Mad Jack Fuller in the 18th century. Travel just 2 miles to the picturesque village of Burwash, once renowned for its smuggling connections - hence the skull and crossbones on some of the gravestones in the churchyard - and also marking the northern boundary of 1066 Country being 8 miles from Senlac Field. Visit Batemans, home to the author Rudyard Kipling (NT), or further afield find Royal Tunbridge Wells and the Chalybeate Spring at 15 miles.
