Ardoch Cottage is situated above the shores of Loch Kishorn in Wester Ross, about 1 1/2 hours by car from Inverness. You can see the sea from most of the rooms, the water's edge is only a couple of minutes walk away and, from just outside the cottage, there is a wonderful outlook to Skye, the Cuilins and the Applecross hills across the loch. The villages of Torridon, Plockton, Applecross and Shieldaig are all within easy driving distance, and Skye is less than an hour by car. There is a very good village shop in Kishorn (1/2 mile) and Lochcarron (5 miles) has a Spar mini-supermarket, a very good butcher, two garages, a hotel and several places to eat and drink.
Completely restored a few years ago, Ardoch Cottage is warm and comfortable and has plenty of room inside and outside. Eight people are easily accommodated. Large well equipped kitchen, with large pine dining table (seats 10). Separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, boiler and clothes drying area. Large sunny sitting room with plenty of sofas and chairs, TV/DVD, wood-burning stove. Twin bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs has 3 large interconnecting bedrooms (one double, two twin-bedded), and a large comfortable bathroom. Outside there is a private sunny courtyard with views to the sea and the Applecross Hills, and plenty of parking space. The sea shore is only a couple of minutes walk away, and the beach is very safe for children.
