Saorphin is a 700-acre farm on the Ross of Mull, situated two miles from the village of Bunessan and is set above Loch Assapol with stunning views over the Loch and Highlands of Mull. The unspoilt countryside is rarely visited and remains one of Scotland’s best-kept secrets. In 2004 an old stone barn was converted into 2 luxurious holiday cottages by the owners who have been coming to Mull for over 30 years, in order to share this idyllic place with others.
Tigh Mhor & Tigh Beag sleep 8 & 10. Both are spacious and well equipped cottages. They both have a large utility porch area with fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, sink unit and also a pay phone. In the fully fitted kitchens there are electric cookers with two fan assisted ovens, dish washer, fridge, microwave oven, and all the usual electric appliances. Every room is fitted with an electric convector heater and there are heated towel rails in the bath and shower rooms. Both cottages have a multi-fuel stove. The connecting doors between the cottages can be opened to form one dwelling for large parties of up to 18 people, ideal for large family and friends get-togethers!
The cottages make an ideal base for beaches, walking, sea and loch fishing. There is a boat available for the loch fishing. There is sea fishing off the private beaches and headlands, with sandy bays and a great campsite. Many superb walks exist along the largely deserted southern coast where you may also see seals, otters, wild goats, eagles and a great assortment of bird life.
This is an ideal base to explore the island, fish, walk or just sit, relax and enjoy the scenery with friends and family.
