Our lovely Tudor barn sleeps up to 22 sofa/camp beds/travel cots and, once the barn is full, the adjacent farmhouse sleeps 6 on a bed only basis, and sometimes camping too with a combined maximum number of 40 guests staying. The barn is a really lovely place - set amidst our peaceful and environmentally friendly farm down a long drive with meadows, bantams scratching, space to roam, space to be together and apart. Great for rural weddings, celebratory gatherings of all ages, civilised hen parties, school groups, reunions, cyclists, historians ...
You can sleep, feast and dance in Tudor costume, sing, get married we have a licence, paint, borrow our 20 bicycles, play cricket, tennis, croquet, table tennis or table football, hug trees, explore our farm and beyond local Lavenham, canoe down the Stour river, read, barbecue and chill out. Children can play football, build a den, pond dip, delve in our dressing up box, run about ...
This ancient, beautiful barn is very definitely not a 'bunkhouse barn' but sleeping arrangements are whacky There are three private bedrooms and the remainder of joiner-made, oak beds are scattered within the huge 30m x 13m aisled main barn four-posters, truckle doubles on wheels, singles, sited where you want them with a curtain to visually divide one end from another. The woodburner and sitting area is one end, the candle-lit oak banquet tables in the middle seating 14-50, and at the other end you can dance, sing and even get married
The cartlodge end of the barn houses a large kitchen with modern facilities and huge kitchen table seating 14 and plenty of china, cutlery for a big gathering. We usually unpack a supermarket delivery before you arrive, or organise good, wholesome local food to be simply delivered. There are two bathrooms and a smart new loo and shower block; an upstairs sitting room and lobby for wet dogs and boots.
Come and explore the barn, the farm and enjoy the spacious, beautiful, ancient and unspoiled surroundings amidst a sensitively farmed landscape ...
