Large properties to rent with Disabled or Easy Access

Due to recent legislation the majority of attractions that are open to the public have facilities for the disabled, the blind, and in some cases, the deaf. Obviously some places cannot afford full access but ramps and lavatories are available at almost all tourist locations and most B&Bs and Hotels. Lift buttons are often imprinted in Braille, and audio-visual presentations accommodate most disabilities with the most modern-minded museums, galleries and country houses offering interactive facilities. Perambulatory disabilities can be a bit of a problem should you be looking to rent an old property as you may encounter a wealth of obstructions from narrow doorways to steep stairs. However a great number of estate cottages were constructed on one level only, but can be in great demand. When booking it is advisable to mention if any of your party has a disability, and to stipulate their extent, as this will avoid any disappointment when arriving at your holiday home. This may seem basic advice but far too many people assume that every property caters for all people, and this is simply not the case due to expense and the confines of the heritage committees.
