A traditional stone-built 18th century terraced cottage ideally located in the centre of the thriving village of Winster, just 4.5 miles from Matlock. Beautifully furnished throughout, this Peak District cottage offers contemporary accommodation which is perfect for friends and families to enjoy time together. A babypack including cot, baby feeding chair, stairgate and many other items is available on request, ensuring the cottage is very family friendly. The sleeping accommodation at this cottage in Winster is made up of three lovely bedrooms. The well-equipped fitted kitchen boasts the original stone-flagged floor, the separate dining area has a feature fireplace and a beamed ceiling, whilst the cosy sitting room has a warming woodburning stove and beamed ceiling. To the rear of this Winster cottage is an attractive private patio courtyard with garden furniture, a BBQ and a chiminea for those cool evenings. The conservation village of Winster boasts a well stocked community village shop and cafe as well as two excellent pubs and is home to a 17th century Market House which is owned by the National Trust. Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are close by, as well as magnificent walks from the doorstep. For the more adventurous, Carsington Water, with its many activities, is only 9 miles away. This is an excellent base for a wonderful Peak District holiday all year round.
Winster is an attractive village situated within the Peak District National Park. Winster has a shop, post office, and two pubs. Within easy reach of Winster are Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Alton Towers.

There are lots of books and games to keep kids entertained. The cottage was clean on the surface but not been thoroughly cleaned as lots of cobwebs and items under furniture etc. The bathroom window and 1 bedroom window catches were broken and could not be closed making those rooms cold. The property is damp which has a lingering smell and black mould can be seen on some cushions. The main bedroom has no blind and the curtains do not fully cover the window. There is a stairgate at the top of the stairs but not one at the bottom. The cottage lacked essentials such as bathroom soap and spare bin bags. 1 sofa is particularly uncomfortable as you always fall into the middle. Bin day is wrong in the guestbook so we missed putting the bins out. Could be lovely but needs some running repairs.

The cottage is just beautiful and set in a perfect location, a stones throw from the village shop and local pub. The cottage itself was beautiful and clean and a very good size. This was very well catered for children too with booster seats and lots of games, which we enjoyed in the evenings. The cottage is set a 30 second walk from a small playground and also includes parking for 1 car, although probably more suited to a small car due to the narrow lane and turning. Overall, we had a very lovely stay here and wouldnât hesitate to come back.

The beds were very comfortable, and the equipment and toys for our young children was all brilliant. Very responsive owner who was very helpful during our stay. Only thing to note - parking on the driveway is not for the faint-hearted!
